Hello to all Members.

Firstly just wanted to say 'Hi' to all the members, and thank you very much for setting up this great site. I'm not what you'd call a massive cigar buff, but hey, it's a hobby I'm starting into and looking forward to enjoying for years to come.

I'm a shift worker and love my job. Every now and then there are moments in my line of work where you need a little time away for some self-serving clarity and an opportunity to escape the daily grind. Get away from the job, the people you deal with and the complex and political nature of my line of work. A chance to unwind from the things that you see and experience almost seemingly on a regular basis.

I discovered an hour of peace the other night. After a day that I thought was never going to end, a colleague of mine re-introduced to a hobby I'd always wanted to get into but never did - cigars. So there we were, two mates and colleagues sitting and decompressing the days events over a cigar and a sensational cup of dark, strong coffee.

It was sensational. My colleague offered me another Cigar to take home, in his words a gift of peace and quiet for the next time. He handed me what I call a Humidor bag, and it got me thinking. Here's a small sign that maybe I can start learning about a hobby thats always interested me, but I never got the time to enjoy. So back in the saddle, here I go. I'm not too proud to state that I don't know a lot about Cigars, but all I do know is that the taste, sensation and conversation that went with that Cigar is something that I enjoyed and look forward to in the future with mates.

So I look forward to chatting with you over the coming months, learning, sitting back and taking in a wealth of information that seems to be on offer from you all. I've spend my morning watching all the sites videos, and laughed out when I recognised a face from the past, Sam Spurr, in your video section.

Sam may not remember me from almost a lifetime ago, but a long time ago in a retail store far far away in North Ryde we used to work together whilst he and I were at Uni studying. So it's kind of added a little bit of 'fate' to the equation to get into the hobby.

I' don't profess to be a rich man with expensive tastes, I'm not out to collect the biggest and best collection - All I want is a good personal collection for me and the few mates I know would enjoy a good cigar and a chat over a good drink.

Look forward to chatting and learning from you all soon.

Regards;

SJ.

Sounds awesome SJ,

Cigars smoking is very personal, and its sounds like your discovering just how you enjoy it.I really do enjoy the whole ritual of setting aside that 45min - 90 min purely to indulge in relaxing and /or socializing whislt smoking.

Ask away on the forum any questions u might have, including topics to ponder such as is it fate that i enjoy cigars... lol

Hi Alex, would be great to catch-up. My cigar seminar I'm hosting may be of interest. Also my blog Inlumino Cigar News Australia may also help point you in the right direction
