So, its a mild afternoon, i dont have any plans its defiantely time for a cigar on the decking.
I grab a Padron 7000, feels a little soft, probably going to have a very easy draw.
I light it, and start to puff away. Immediately i notice its smoking it self. Smoke is pouring off it even without drawing. When i toke i dont see the edges light up at all. Hmm. must be buring down the centre. I clip of the burnt part and try to re light. Again some thing. I clip off a larger amount and again same problem.
Well i was in no mood to battle a cigar all afternoon, after all i was wanting to relax.
I ditch the cigar and grab a monster La gloria Serie R.
....... Anyway i light that cigar, more carefully mind you, and THIS ONE burns terribly uneven. I try to relight to even it out but on side would burn. AAAGGH!
Again i clip off the burnt parts and try to relight.
I couldnt get the damn thing to burn properly!
Now faced with simply wasting money, battling a second cigar i really was not enjoying my afternoon.
I ended up tryiing one more time. I grabbed a Morgan Alexander Gold Maduro by Perdomo (house blend of a particular US company)
And suffice to say my afternoon is now heading in the originally anticipated direction of relaxing.
Seriously tho, a rathr frustrating and costly ordeal to finally reach my desired "relaxation".
oh, well. Such is cigars......

The La Gloria Serie R might have benefited from some hot boxing?
At least you eventually got to a cigar you could enjoy.

Permalink Reply by Adam S on November 2, 2011 at 12:59pm Yeah its a Maduro but significantly lighter in colour than the Maduro 5. I was asking if a new box of Ramon Allones had come in yet and was pointed to three new boxes of Limited Editions (2011) that had just arrived that day.
I got this and a couple of the other LE's of 2011, Ramon Allones Extra and Hoyo de Monterrey Pyramid. I paid close to $50 aussie for the Cohibas and something less for the other two. Wasn't intentending on purchasing such $$$ cigars but just couldn't leave them sitting there!
If i can pick up a couple more in the next month or so i'll light one up, otherwise going to bury them for a while!

Permalink Reply by Simon Larsen on November 2, 2011 at 6:18pm $50 looks like a good price, that is what my normal site sells them for before even factoring in customs.
Are you interested in sharing who you got it from? I would really like to grab some.
I notice that last years maduros are available in 25 packs now which I might do instead, the ones I got were pretty good and I'd like to get some more.
